‘Learning is necessary to stay flexible.’
After graduating in Social Psychology, Eva Janssen (1969) worked for eight years as a trainer of social and communication skills (University of Amsterdam, Knijff Nauta, Van Harte & Lingsma). She subsequently specialized in individual consulting (coaching, career counseling) and advised organisations in hiring and their development of personnel (Kraanen, de Groot & Tan).
De Coach has years of experience in doing assessments. One can think of assessments typically used in career, selection and development. Parallel to that, she studied ‘haptonomy’ for three years (there is no good translation for this word in english, but ‘hapsis’ means in Old Greek : feeling, feel and ‘nomos’ means rule, norm). de Coach has an eclectic approach and combines her experience in working with emotions and the body with her experience in behaviour development and cognitive psychology. She works with De Coach since 2004 with commitment and pleasure and has clients from both profit and non-profit organisations.
“I meet a lot of people on the verge of changing. They would like to deal differently with things, but often do not know how to break out of their usual behaviour patterns. When you change it causes insecurity because you are entering an unknown terrain. You might feel vulnerable and sometimes it hurts. But that comes with it. If you experience the weight of your current behaviour, you are more easily prepared to commit to a change”
